One AM - Movie Review |
|
A night on the tiles ends awkwardly for Charlie Chaplin's little tramp in this silent classic created for Mutual Films. Except for a brief appearance from a Chaplin stalwart (Albert Austin as a taxi-cab driver) this is a one-hander from Chaplin as he bumbles and fumbles his way to bed. Chaplin plays the role of a wealthy man coming home late, after too much to drink. He only wants to go to bed, but 'everything' around him prevents him. Unable to find his key he spends twenty minutes staggering into, out of, and through the house in an inebriated confrontation with the house itself.
